Department of urology, each sex and in each age group, the kidneys, ureters (the channels through the kidneys and bladder), bladder and urethra (the channel for urine from the bladder to outside the body moved) of dealing with an important medical disease section. These diseases, diagnosed by specialists in the field of urology, can be successfully treated using appropriate medical and modern surgical equipment.

Closed surgery and robotic surgery are successfully applied
The Department of urology has many sub-branches such as Andrology, functional urology, Endourology, UroOncology and pediatric urology. Diagnosis and treatment methods of all urological sub-branches are applied within the framework of the latest world-class approaches to medicine in our hospital. Almost all surgical interventions in the field of urology are now performed with closed surgery (laparoscopy, endoscopy) and robotic surgery. The most widely used branch of robotic surgery is urology. In the modern age of technology, laser energy has entered active use in many medical branches, but in urology, laser energy is used in urology clinics associated with our institution. In our institution, we have highly experienced specialist physicians who are interested in all sub-branches of urology, while these sub-branches and the issues they are interested in are listed below.

Andrology
It covers male sexual function problems, infertility (infertility) and assisted reproductive treatments. ESWT (out-of-body shock wave therapy) is applied in our clinic, which improves the blood flow of the penis, reduces complaints in cases of chronic prostatitis, and in inflammatory cases of the penis, such as cheese disease, which is very popular today. In addition, high success rates are achieved with the microsurgical method we apply in the treatment of varicocele disease, which is an important cause of male infertility.

FUNCTIONAL UROLOGY
Urination disorders, stress incontinence, with the failure in their pelvic floor muscles, especially in women organ prolapse, neurological diseases, neuromuscular dysfunctions of the bladder can be seen with problems such as the diagnosis and treatment of covers. Procedures such as urodynamic examination, pressure-current study, Botox application to the bladder are included in this area. Bladder and urinary canal(urethra) suspension surgery is also performed in our clinic.

Endourology

Endourology is the area where diagnosis and treatment of urinary system stone diseases, urinary system tumors by minimally invasive (laparoscopy, robotic surgery, endoscopy) approaches are performed in both sexes. It has completely replaced open surgery in the diagnosis and treatment and reconstruction of strictures of the urinary tract. Currently, completely closed endoscopic methods are preferred for the treatment of benign prostatic enlargement (BPH) with the use of laser technology, regardless of the size of the prostate. Ureterenoscopy, retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS), percutaneous nephrolithotomy, which are the main treatments of stone diseases, can be applied with closed methods accompanied by modern technology with a holmium laser. In addition, successful results are obtained with out-of-body shock wave therapy (ESWL) applied in the treatment of stone diseases. All these current treatments are applied by our specialist physicians in our institution.

UroOncology
Diagnosis and treatment of all urological cancers such as bladder, prostate, kidney and testicular tumors is required by the doctors of our UroOncology department with common treatments are applied to the high standards of modern medicine.

Bladder cancer: most often in the form of painless clot bleeding in the urine. Again, complaints in the form of straining and burning can also be observed when urinating. Especially people who smoke are at the highest risk and are more common in men than in women. Endoscopic evaluation of the bladder with a camera, pathological evaluation is provided by TUR-MT (transurethral resection of the bladder) operation, taking samples from areas that appear suspicious or from tumor formations found during this procedure. Mainly follow – up and treatment depends on the outcome of this pathology. Depending on the result of pathology, drug applications into the bladder, radical cystectomy (removal of the entire bladder) or chemotherapy-radiation therapy are planned jointly with our doctors in medical oncology and Radiation Oncology. Currently, radical cystectomy surgery is easily performed in the hands of well-experienced surgeons with robotic surgery, but its results are quite funny.

Prostate cancer: although there are many risk factors, they develop mainly due to exposure to the male hormone (testosterone) with aging of the prostate gland, which exists in men. If there is a family history of prostate cancer, it is recommended that every man over the age of 45 and 50 years, if there is no, undergo an annual examination and PSA test in the blood. In suspected cases, the standard biopsy method is MRI-USG (magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound) fusion biopsy. Thanks to this method, which is routinely applied in our clinic, undetectable cancers in a biopsy accompanied by a standard rectal ultrasound allow you to target and sample suspicious images. Currently, surgical treatment for prostate cancer is again performed with robotic prostatectomy. Taking into account the risk factors of the disease, the need for additional treatments according to the result of pelvic lymph node dissection and pathology is decided by your urologist. In patients who are not suitable for surgery and have problems urinating, local treatments such as HIFU are applied within our institution.

Kidney cancer: kidney tumors in advanced stages in the old days of flank pain, with symptoms such as swelling in the urine from bleeding when applying nowadays, ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging with the widespread use of imaging techniques, such as early diagnosis and symptomatic while not quite receive. In this way, nephron protective surgery (partial nephrectomy) to protect the healthy part of the kidney and remove the mass is now a fairly common form of surgical treatment. With our doctors who specialize in robotic surgery, these treatments are applied with high success with fewer hospital stays, pain and bleeding without the need for open surgery. Again, robotic surgery can be performed in cases where the kidney cannot be protected and with lymph node involvement. Cryoablative treatments are applied for small masses in patients who are not suitable for surgery, while current treatment protocols such as immunotherapy with targeted agents along with the medical oncology department are applied in our institution in cases that have spread to the body (metastatic) that are not suitable for surgical treatment.

ESTIS cancer: testicular cancer, which is common, especially in young and middle-aged men, often refers to the testicle with a painless growing mass. Although ultrasound is important for diagnosis, research of tumor markers in the blood and physical examination are also important. In cases where testicular tumor is suspected, it is recommended to remove the testicle from the inguinal area (inguinal) without wasting time and evaluate the entire body with imaging methods such as high-quality computed tomography as a result of pathology. Testicular tumors often spread (metastasize )to the lymph nodes adjacent to the main vessels in the back (aorta and vena cava). After receiving a diagnosis of this cause, it is appropriate to follow up and, if necessary, perform additional treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy and removal of lymph nodes in highly equipped centers. If there is involvement of the lymph nodes in question, surgery can be quite risky and difficult. Robotic surgery can be performed quite safely and successfully in experienced hands. In our clinic, robotic surgery and closed removal of the lymph nodes in question, with our oncology department doctors, both chemotherapy and radiation therapy are performed at world standards.

PEDIATRIC UROLOGY
Pediatric Urology is a separate branch from adult urology that deals with urological problems, especially in the childhood age group. Circumcision, hypospadias, undescended testes, urinary tract infections, urination disorders, enuresis Nocturna(night urinary incontinence), neuromuscular dysfunctions of the bladder, kidney output (ureteropelvic junction stenosis, and vesicoureteral reflux (leakage of urine from the bladder to the kidneys) are among the major topics of children’s urology. In addition, minimally invasive endourological treatments of stone diseases (micropercutaneous nephrolithotomy, ultraminin percutaneous nephrolithotomy, RIRS) can be applied using laser energy methods in our clinic. In addition to medical treatments in pediatric urology ,endoscopic surgery, laparoscopy and robotic surgery are also used in selected cases. Again, scintigraphic(MAG-3, DMSA) assessments are needed to evaluate kidney function in pediatric urology and to protect kidney reserves before adult age, but all examinations are evaluated safely with the relevant branch specialist doctors of our institution.
